A luxurious home in a safe gated community
Located within the Sunway Iskandar integrated city, the Japanese-designed luxury gated development will offer 100 homes, including 10 bungalows, 38 semi-detached homes, and 52 semi-detached plus homes – or spacious cluster styled homes.
Behind its signature Torii gate-inspired entrance, Sakura Residence offers amenities including a luxurious community centre equipped with a swimming pool and gym, and a running and jogging track set within a four seasons themed landscape.
The Japanese are famous for their impeccable attention to detail, and it shows in the design planning for Sakura Residence. The homes will feature finger-safe doors, non-slip floors, waterproof socket points, and two-way switches, for a truly comfortable and safe living environment for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.
In particular, every window and door in a Sakura Residence home is fitted with insect screens to keep mosquitos and pests at bay. This is a welcome design feature for an area where dengue fever and zika are prevalent, allowing homeowners to be completely assured that their family is protected.
Sakura Residence's Semi-D home prices start from a very attractive S$237psf.

Japanese technology in Malaysia
What is interesting, is that Daiwa House is bringing its expertise in Japanese prefabricated construction technology into this project.
Daisuke Usugi, Chief Executive Officer for Daiwa Sunway Development Sdn Bhd & Managing Director of Daiwa House Malaysia Sdn Bhd, explained that the prefabricated homes are assembled on site and reinforced within steel frames.
“The unique feature of our homes is its good heat insulation. In Japan, it gets very hot in summer and it snows in winter,” said Usugi. “We have heat insulation boards in our walls, to prevent the heat from outside from getting into the home, and to keep the cool air from getting out.”
As these homes are built to a high level of precision, it also ensures there are no gaps at the windows and doors, keeping the homes draught free and stable. To accommodate the warm climate in Malaysia, the homes are also designed with a ceiling height of 3.4 metres for improved airflow.

The benefits for homebuyers are clear. Daiwa House’s luxury prefabricated homes are constructed in half the time of a conventional home. What’s more, the construction process is not subjected to the error of individual craftsman, so the finished product has far fewer defects, particularly with its plumbing and electrical works.
That means, homebuyers will get to move into their new homes sooner, and with absolute peace of mind.
Sounds too good to be true? Seeing is believing.

In the right place, with the right people
Why did Daiwa House choose to locate their first development in Malaysia within Sunway Iskandar? Usugi noted that Iskandar remains a strategic location, given its proximity to Singapore and the incentives granted to developers.
Its decision to partner with Sunway Property for Sakura Residence was equally strategic.
As Usugi explained it, Sunway Property had a proven track record in developing townships and held a long-term view of its projects. “Sunway Property takes time to develop and grow each of its township, and ensure that its product remains of a very high quality,” said Usugi. “They are not just building homes to sell, without taking time to maintain it, and we like their business philosophy.”
Furthermore, Sunway Property maintains a strong emphasis on security, with 24-hour joint patrols by Sunway’s private security force and the Royal Malaysian police force, as well as camera surveillance throughout the integrated city.
