Cheapest Parking Spots for Singapore’s Popular Spots, CBD (Raffles Place) and Orchard Road!
Parking spaces are hard to come by in both shopping-destination Orchard Road and CBD. Not only are the retail stores expensive, but so is the parking. At any time these bustling places host very few parking places and parking fees are so high that they may even be equal to a parking violation penalty.
Every parking spot has a different rate for different hours. For instance, you will pay a different price for a parking space before 5/6 pm in some areas, while after there will be different prices. This does not make the task of finding a place to park any easier.
ZUU online has researched the best places to park that will save you both time and money when you journey to any of these places.
Here are some of the cheapest parking spots you can consider.
Places around CBD (Raffles Place)
Formerly called Commercial Place, Raffles Place is a prime location as it plays host to important shopping spots. It is also a historical site recognized by the National Heritage Board.
The prestige that CBD holds has consequently led to a very high rate for parking fees. However, even the parking spots are in short supply.
One Raffles Quay
The facility’s pricing is standard: you pay different rates depending on the time of day. On weekdays, you will pay $1.18 per every 10 minutes from 6 am to 6 pm. This may seem quite a prohibitive rate but considering the location, this is reasonable.
From 6 pm, you will pay $3.21 for the first four hours. After those four hours, you will pay $0.30 for ten minutes subsequently.
Interestingly, the facility maintains the same rates for Saturday as for the period from 6 pm on weekdays. However, Sundays and public holidays have different rates. Particularly, you will pay $3.21 for the first four hours. Later, you will pay $0.30 for each 10 minutes from 6 am to 6 am the following day.
Therefore, the difference is that you have more hours for parking than the other days. However, the facility maintains a monthly package that may seem a little too high but good if you can afford it. Normally, it allows $480 per month although has no grace period.
Clifford Centre has a few parking spots conveniently situated with Raffles Place. The spot is also conveniently located near various bus stations like Bus Stop Clifford Pier – 03019.
Convenience aside, Clifford centre offers one of the cheapest parking spaces in the whole of Raffles Place. However, the rates may not be as competitive for one used to spots far outside the Singapore CBD.
In particular, you will pay $2.50 for every thirty minutes from 7 am to 5 pm on weekdays. Further, every single entry from 5 pm onwards to 12 midnight will attract $3.00 each. The same rate applies for the period from midnight to 7 am on the morning of the following day.
During the weekends, one may be surprised that the rates are the same as for the weekdays. However, the parking space does not open on Sundays or during public holidays. The park may also sometimes close down for the day at 11 pm from Monday to Saturday.
8 Shenton Way
Shenton Way is also a prime location for a parking spot to Raffles Place. Surprisingly, the parking rates are very much affordable.
At the parking spot, you will pay S$2.30 for every thirty minutes from 7 am to 6 pm on weekdays. If you come later than 6 pm, you pay a fixed parking fee of S$2.80 per entry.
The facility maintains a flat rate of S$2.30 per 30 minutes from 7 am to 1 pm on Saturday. From 1 pm to 6.59am the following day, you will fork out a fixed fee of $2.80 per entry. However, Sunday and public holidays enjoy the most friendly fees. You will only need to pay a flat fee of S$2.80 for each entry from 7 am to 7 am the following day.
Places around Orchard Place
Orchard Road is Singapore’s prime shopping destination. The location boasts the world’s best-in-class luxury retail points. Further, it plays host to world-class cuisines that promise a wealth of experiences for the visitors.
Far East Plaza
The rates here are very manageable compared to other locations. You can always find space at the mall if you get there early.
Particularly, Far East Plaza has plans for monthly parking subscription. This takes out the hassle associated with looking for a parking space every shopping season. In particular, the shopping mall offers a season parking subscription at $149.80 per month. With this plan, you will have a parking grace period of 10 minutes.
On a daily basis, you will pay $1.07 for the first one hour. For the succeeding time that you remain parked, you will pay $1.07 for every half an hour. Note that these are the rates for the time between 8am and 5 pm.
From 5 pm to 8 am the following day, you will fork out $3.53 per entry. You will pay the same figures for the weekend as for the weekdays.
Plaza Singapura offers a multi-storey car park. Similar to Far East Plaza, Plaza Singapura maintains a dual shift pricing regime for parking.
From 8 am to 5 pm, you will get a parking space at $1.28 for the first hour. For each following 15 minutes you will pay $0.43 from 12 midnight to 5.59pm the following day on weekdays. Unlike Far East Plaza, the fee per entry on weekdays from 6pm to 11.59pm is a mere $2.57.
The same plan holds for Saturday with a few adjustments. You will pay $2.57 for the first two hours and $0.43 per 15 minutes from 3am to 5.59pm.
On Sunday, you will pay the same rates as those on public holidays. Particularly, you will pay $2.57 for the first two hours and $0.43 for next subsequent 15 minutes from 3am to 5.59pm. The price per entry from 6pm to a minute before midnight is the same for each day of the week.
Plaza Singapura has a season subscription at $181.90 per month. However, the plan does not include any grace period.
Interestingly, Plaza Singapura is one among the very few facilities that offer free parking for a limited period. In particular, Plaza Singapura offers free parking from Monday to Friday (excluding PH and eve of PH). This is specifically for the first hour between 10am to 5:59pm. For the subsequent 15 minutes, you will pay $0.32.
Atrium @ Orchard
This prime parking area maintains similar rates to Plaza Singapura due to them being located in the same vicinity. However, the facility does not offer free parking at any point in time.
The other difference is that you will pay $1.28 for the first two hours on weekdays from 8am to 5/6pm.
Atrium @ Orchard differs from Plaza Singapura in that it offers a season parking at $181.90 per month with 10min grace period. It is still priced similarly to Plaza Singapora.
We hope this helps you with whatever adventure you’re on and that this helps ease the tension of parking at these popular places.
